Lessons Learned

So I was looking at some old pictures on my computer today from all different stages of my life. And I got in a nostalgic mood. I am a deep thinker, and reflect on the past a lot. Looking back at these pictures.. I realized a few things

• God puts people in our lives for specific reasons at specific times that you may not even realize until years later. If he has done that in the past, I can trust he will in the future. 
• Friends sometimes come in and out of our lives, but family is the one constant that will always be there. 
• The gospel is a constant and is the one things that can bring true joy
• I am so blessed. I don't thank Heavenly Father enough for all that he has given me
• My trials that I thought were so big and hard at certain times in my life really weren't a big deal and passed quickly
• I don't remember all of the bad times, looking back I remember the good and all of the lessons I have learned on the way that make me who I am today. 
• Also... I look really awkward in braces. Jr. High was just a really awkward stage.........
• I shot way of my league with boys I went out with in High School. Ha ha ha
• My life is full of awkward moments, and random adventures. I love it.

My Random.Crazy.Awesome Weekend

So here's the deal. I have had a lot of random hilarious nights lately. Love my life.

I got to see (most of) my Africa roomies! It was so great to get together again. Love these girls so much.

We love each other. Carlee loves Ashley's foot.

 Carlee and I also drove up to Salt Lake City for a Yoga Rave at the Hindu Temple. Ha it was definitely an experience. It was crazy, random, and a little weird, but fun. I learned a lot about the Hindu religion, danced, chanted, ate good food, and of course did Yoga. I didn't really take any pictures though because 1. the lighting was really bad 2. I didn't know if it was actually allowed. So, ya.

Saturday went to the football game with Tiffany and some friends.

Went to a fun outdoor concert party thing we randomly got invited too. There were a lot of cool local bands playing. And there was a photo booth with a Monkey, so obviously we had to get in on that. Then came back and went to a birthday party for a girl in our ward.

And today I got up really early (7am)........ to go down to Price with Kyle to Brian Housekeeper's farewell! I was tired but I am glad I did it. Funny story... I actually was dreaming that I was in a play.. but I hadn't read my lines. I was frantically trying to memorize my lines before I went on stage just as I awoke to Kyle calling me saying he was here.. Ha ha so great. I thanked him for saving me from an embarrassing dream. It was so good to see Brian before he left. He will be a great missionary. Then to church, awesome CES fireside with Elder Holland (it wasn't at the Marriott Center unfortunately) ward prayer, and root beer float/games night at Jocelyn's apartment. So great.

Back in Provo and Burglar Hunting?

Back to reality.... moving in to our new townhouse! It's so great and we love it. I am living with Heather and Natalie and our friend Kaylie from Freshman year. It's going to be an awesome year. Being back in Provo has been fun! It's great to see old friends that I haven't seen all summer.





We may or may not have ended up having lightsaber battles and playing on the roof of King Henry. Maybe.

So I have to tell you a story. Once upon a time the first night we moved into our apartment Natalie hadn't unpacked her bed yet. So she just slept in my bed. 2 am rolls around and she wakes me up freaking out thinking she heard a noise downstairs and there is a burglar in our apartment and we are going to die. I am a little groggy.. but I look around for something to grab. The only thing I found was a wooden sign that says "dance" and my phone. I had 911 dialed in my phone, Natalie grabbed a textbook and a whistle. Then we creep down the stairs slowly, burglar hunting. Ready to take him down. Turns out there was nothing. The walls are thin and when our neighbors shut their downstairs door and go up the stairs, it sounds like ours. Pretty funny though. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened when someone was there : )

The house is a mess with us moving in but as soon as we have decorated and unpacked, I'll do a post with pics of the house 

The Best 4 Months

This summer has been the most incredible summer of my life and it's going to be an adjustment for school to start on Monday.  I have learned and grown so much I feel like I am definitely a different person than I was 4 months ago. I will miss and still do miss Uganda everyday (I now have a Uganda shrine in my new apartment... don't' worry) It was an incredible experience. I grew and learned so much and met so many people who changed my life. I miss so much about Uganda. Especially the little children. Ah my heart aches to look at pictures of them.

I will miss my EFY kids! I had the incredible opportunity to do EFY this summer and it was an amazing experience. I learned so much from them, and was grateful for the opportunity to be their counselor.

                                  

I will miss Canada. I was able to go there for a family reunion and see my grandparents and many many cousins, aunts and uncles who I haven't seen in a few years. What a great time. I love going to Canada, it feels like home.

                            

This has been an incredible summer and I am definitely dreading getting back to the "daily grind" of school but school is also a great experience in its own right. I am excited to learn a lot this year, get closer to graduation, and have many adventures along the way! Here's to an incredible summer, and a great school year!

Spent a week of fun in Canada at the Forsyth Family Reunion! Good times seeing cousins that I haven't seen in years! And staying at Aunt Bonnie's fancy house wasn't half bad.  I love being in Canada, I grew up there so it feels like home :) 

EFY!

                                     This week I had the great opportunity to do a session of EFY

I had an amazing experience this week. I wish I could have done more sessions but doing one was still so great! I loved the testimonies of my kids. They were inspiring and incredible, considering they were 14 years old! I loved hearing from them. My co-counselors were great too, they have been doing EFY all summer and were very helpful to me when I didn't know what I was doing. What a great week.
