2 Years

Today marks two years since I came off the escalator. I have learned and grown and improved so much and so much has happened. I have seen best friends get married, two brothers get married (almost, one is in a month from now) I have gained a niece and a nephew, I have lost grandparents, moved apartments, gotten my heart broken, graduated from BYU, started teaching elementary school, cried and laughed. But the thing I have learned in those 18 months was to stay close to the Lord and everything will be alright. He has a plan and will guide us through. Here's some pics to commemorate :)

Lessons Learned

So I was looking at some old pictures on my computer today from all different stages of my life. And I got in a nostalgic mood. I am a deep thinker, and reflect on the past a lot. Looking back at these pictures.. I realized a few things

• God puts people in our lives for specific reasons at specific times that you may not even realize until years later. If he has done that in the past, I can trust he will in the future. 
• Friends sometimes come in and out of our lives, but family is the one constant that will always be there. 
• The gospel is a constant and is the one things that can bring true joy
• I am so blessed. I don't thank Heavenly Father enough for all that he has given me
• My trials that I thought were so big and hard at certain times in my life really weren't a big deal and passed quickly
• I don't remember all of the bad times, looking back I remember the good and all of the lessons I have learned on the way that make me who I am today. 
• Also... I look really awkward in braces. Jr. High was just a really awkward stage.........
• I shot way of my league with boys I went out with in High School. Ha ha ha
• My life is full of awkward moments, and random adventures. I love it.  

20 Years say whaaaaaaat

It is true, I turned 20 this week! Holy cow. Who said I could be an adult? I still feel lie that shy little girl on her first day of first grade in Canada, that awkward girl at the dance in middle school, that FCCLA officer from High School. Life passes incredibly fast and it is so important to love and experience every moment.

Here's to my next 20 years! Who knows what they will bring

I can't believe your.. how old again?!
Now a Grandpa but still adventurous.
And can still wrestle anyone to the ground.
Thank you for the many years of Saturday morning pancakes,
Singing silly songs, (you know the ridiculous DnC one)
driving lessons,
life lessons (mostly just by your example)
the funny farm stories from your childhood,
pretending to still know Dutch ( I know you just use that one phrase over and over :)
being supportive of my dreams,
and always being there.
I couldn't have asked for a better father.
